Beef Burgandy 1

1/4 cup flour
2 lbs Top Round, cut in 1-1/2” cubes
1/4 cup corn oil
1 lb small white onion, peeled
1/2 cup shredded carrots
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup Burgandy wine
1 cup beef bouillon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried thyme leaves
1/4 tsp pepper
1 bay leaf
1/4 lb mushrooms, sliced
8-oz wide egg noodles

Place flour in a large plastic food bag.  Add beef a few pieces at a time.  Close tightly, shake to coat.  In a large skillet, heat corn oil over medium heat.  Add beef a few pieces at a time.  Brown well.  Drain.  Add white onions to skillet.  Cook, stirring three minutes or until browned.  Remove.  Drain.  Add carrots, chopped onion and garlic in skillet.  Cook, stirring 1 minute.  Gradually stir in wine and bouillon.  Stir constantly, bring to boil.  Add beef, white onions, salt, thyme, pepper, and bay leaf.  Bring to boil.  Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 1 hour.  Add mushrooms.  Simmer 30 minutes or until beef is tender.  Serve over noodles.
