Steak with Tomato-Wine Sauce

2 lb top round steak, 1” thick
1/2 cup burgandy/dry red wine
  dash of crushed oregano
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
2 tsp butter
1 can tomato soup
2 tbsp brown sugar

Score the steak.  Combine the burgandy, oregano, and garlic powder and pour over steak.  Marinate for four hours, turning occasionally.  Drain the steak and reserve the marinade.  Cook the onion in butter in a sacuepan until tender.  Add the soup, brown sugar, and reserved marinade and heat through, stirring occasionally.  Place the steak on a grill 3” from coals and brush with half the sauce.  Cook for 10 minutes.  Turn and baste with remaining sauce.  Cook to desired doneness.
