“Marketing” is that which we consider to be activities that are not related to fulfilling the purpose for which you initially provided your information or a subsequent customer-initiated request, such as offers of new products or services.  Alternatively, we may need and reserve the right to communicate with you regarding the usability of products or critical messages relating to your services (such as service messages, subscription notices, critical notices, or legally mandated notices).

We use industry recognized security safeguards to help protect the personal information you provide us from loss, misuse or unauthorized alteration.  Whenever we prompt you to transmit sensitive information, such as tax return or credit card information, we support the encryption of your information as it is transmitted to us.

We work to protect personal information from unauthorized access using industry standard computer security products such as firewalls, as well as carefully developed security procedures and practices.  All Recipes on a Budget employees must review and sign written statement of the practices, which include limiting access to sensitive information only to those employees who require the information and enforcing strict security requirements for all employees.  We use both internal and external resources to review the adequacy of our security measures on a regular basis.

We may disclose or report personal information in limited circumstances where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required under the law.  For example, we may be required to disclose personal information to cooperate with regulators or law enforcement authorities, to comply with a legal process such as a court order, subpoena, search warrant, or a law enforcement request.

We may use sources outside of Recipes on a Budget to supplement the information you give us.  For example, we may validate your address using other sources.  We use this information to help us maintain accuracy and provide you with better service.
